Hello from the other side,
I am here with useful content. Sit back, read EVERYTHING patiently and focus hocus pocus.
1. About your math homework (video links below)
Homework is MPAH WB 4B Pg 5-10 (I'm looking at the few of you who didn't bring your books today >:( the rest of you have already done at least up to page 7)
Due WEDNESDAY, 4th MAY
Pg 7:
As mentioned, Question 1 breaks it down for you step by step. There are blanks for you to write down ALL your working.
Question 2 cuts straight to the chase: they give you a mixed number, you give them the improper fraction.
Use the diagram and your common sense (hehehe) to check your answer!
Pg 9:
Question 1: Do all your working EXACTLY as is shown in 1(a). Again for your reference, here is how I did it:
And here are 2 videos: the one I showed you, as well as our good friend from Math Antics.
2. Your Class Cheer
Here's the cheer I suggested, use it if you like it.
4A dynamite, don't mess with dynamite! *clap* *clap* *clap* x2
(now stomp your feet too)
4A dynamite, don't mess with dynamite! *clap* *clap* *clap* x2
Ohhhhh.... 4A!
HA! (right hand up)
HOO! (left hand up)
HAIYA!!! (in your best Bruce Lee voice, and in a fighting stance)
Here's another one, as a bonus:
Leaders (about 5 people): When I say 4A you say OH!
Leaders:4A!
Class: OH!
Leaders: 4A!
Class: OH!
Leaders: When I say 4A you say YEAH!
Leaders: 4A!
Class: YEAH!
LEaders: 4A!
Class: YEAH!
Leaders: When I say 4A you say OH, when I say 4A you say YEAH
Leaders: 4A 4A!
TOGETHER: Ohhhhhhhh YEAHHHH!!!!!!!
(sorry I couldn't find videos for these heh)
3. Self-Study
Here's the rough schedule I wrote on the whiteboard just now, which you can use to revise/study ANY subject. All you need is your textbook and a blank sheet of paper.
1 min - skim (flip through the chapter, reading only TITLES and WORDS IN BOLD
1 min - jot down what you recall
3-5 mins - read the chapter (re-read if you're done before the time is up)
2 mins - closed book recall (close your book and jot down everything you can recall from your reading)
3-5 mins - read again
2 mins - closed book recall
3 mins - open book recall (now you can refer to your book to fill in any gaps or points you missed)
5 mins - short break
Voila, one chapter done.
Adjust the timings as necessary, for example you might find that 5 minutes of reading is too short, so bump it up to 8. Or you might find that 2 minutes is not enough to write down all you can recall, so bump it up to 3 or 4 minutes.
Alright that's all from me. See y'all tomorrow.
Take care of yourselves and one another, and always be nice.

SYMM | MMY5
Greetings, students of 4A. It is I, here to send you a message from beyond (the classroom, not from the grave).
Some of you might have this symbol all over your worksheet:
That is what you call a crosshair. It is used in many contexts but some of you might recognize it from your shooter or sniper games. It draws your focus to the centre, and is used for ACCURATE positioning.
If YOU see a crosshair on your worksheet it means I have an issue with the accuracy of your drawing. Sometimes I also indicate with an arrow WHERE you were inaccurate.
Here's what you need in your symmetry drawings:
1) use a pencil and ruler
2) use a dashed line - - - - - - - - - -
3) it must cut the figure EXACTLY into two equal halves that are mirror images
4) let the line start and end OUTSIDE the figure, like this:
Lastly, if you're still not clear or satisfied with the demonstration of the dollar sign NOT being a symmetric shape, then... be a little hardworking and draw it out for yourself! Hard work pays off :D

And remember your origami paper?
The fold you made was the line of symmetry. If you didn't realize that then I hope you are #mindblown.
Here is the shape that Gabriel made with his origami paper. Arrange it one way and you have a symmetric shape, the other and it isn't.
At first it isn't symmetric:
Then we flip one half and voila! Symmetric!
That's all, folks. Take care of yourselves, of one another, and always be nice.

Intro to Symmetry & A Rewind
Hello 4A,
Welcome. Welcome one and all to a recap of sorts to the lesson we had today. What you'll see below are my slides, for your revision, as well as photos Mrs Ow Yong took of you lot in action.
After all that is, as promised, photos of some of your grid drawings.
Let's go.
Ok now photos:
That's all, folks. Take care of one another and yourselves, too.

REWIND
I've just picked a few drawings, and to repeat, I accepted work following either the old or new set of rules. Ain't that cool, now.
The first set of drawings are those that followed my old set of rules:
all the lines of the same length will be of the same colour.
Pretty neat stuff.
Next are 3 drawings that followed my new set of rules:
squares are coloured in block, rectangles shaded.
Noice.
That's all, folks. Take care of one another and yourselves, too.

Drawing Squares and Rectangles on dot paper
Dear 4A,
Please note the following when you draw a square or rectangle with a given line on dot paper :
You may think this task is easy but it may not seem so. This require effort and skills ...
Do :
- draw with ruler (not free hand)
- use a mechanical pencil to be precise (not a blunt wooden pencil)
- no disjointed line
- the line you draw MUST touch all the dots along its way
Otherwise you will be marked wrong for a question like this. Look at the following work you have submitted and do learn from them.

Investigating Properties of Liquids
Hi 4A,
We’ve investigated the properties of liquids and gases last week and answered some questions on liquids. We’ve concluded that liquids have indefinite shape, a definite volume and cannot be compressed.
Now, click on the link below and watch the video on Volcano Lava. Post your thoughts based on our KB scaffolds;
- (I wonder) I need to understand…
- (I think) My theory is…
- This theory doesn’t explain…
- A better theory is...

Math - Grid Art
Dear Students,
Here are two samples and instructions once more as promised.
AN UPDATE THOUGH:
A number of you approached me with your drawings and I noticed they are quite complex and it might be difficult to follow the initial instructions I gave.
So here, THIS IS HOW YOU COLOUR YOUR DRAWING:
- If it is a SQUARE, colour it in completely. You choose the colour, you can have many colours, that is up to you.
- If it is a RECTANGLE, colour it in stripes. They can be vertical, horizontal or diagonal, and once again you choose the colour(s).
Some of your drawings might be 'layered' e.g. there is a square base, and on top of it you place two different squares to represent eyes. Look at the samples below for a better understanding:

This is a simple picture of a ballerina. The squares and rectangles do not overlap. Notice how the squares are all coloured in completely whilst the rectangles are coloured in stripes. Some stripes slant to the left, some to the right, and some are vertical.
This is some kind of dog-monster creature. Notice how its face is made of an ORANGE square, and there are YELLOW squares on it that represent the eyes and nose. Below that are a few rectangles that represent its weird mouth.
I hope you are clear on what needs to be done. I look forward to seeing your works of art on Wednesday.
That's all, folks. Take care of one another, stay hydrated and get enough sleep.
Mr Fawaz
